About Me
I am a 2D artist based in Minnesota and with strong connections to California. My work is inspired by my father's creative past as a DJ and graffiti artist; my online persona takes on his old tagger name, “Toonz”. I create both traditional and digital illustrations, generally focused on characters that are influenced by animation and comic-book art styles. I enjoy designing expressive characters with unique features that reveal their personalities or purpose in a story or illustration. Sometimes my characters reflect my own emotions and inner self, taking on dreamlike qualities or existing in a dreamlike environment. I received my Associates in Studio Art for transfer at Santa Barbara City College, and am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art in Studio Art with an Emphasis in Drawing & Illustration at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I am an officer of the Animation Club at MSUM and design posters for the club's events.
